About
Who are we?
We are an interdisciplinary lab based at Tufts University and the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital. Our research integrates the fields of Cognitive Neuroscience, Psycholinguistics, and Cognitive science.
What do we study?
We are investigating the neural mechanisms mediating language comprehension and production in healthy adults. We are also interested in how these mechanisms break down in individuals with neuropsychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia. We use multimodal neuroimaging techniques – fMRI, MEG/EEG, and ERPs – to better understand the spatiotemporal dynamics of these processes in the brain. Location
Our lab is located on the 3rd floor of the Tufts Psychology Building at:
490 Boston Ave.
Medford, MA 02155
When you arrive at the Psychology Building, take the elevator to the third floor. Then take an immediate right and go down the hall. Depending on the study, you will meet the experimenter in Room #307, 308, or 309.
T or Bus
If you are coming by subway, or "T", take the Red Line to the Davis Square Station. Exit the Davis Square Station on the College Avenue side. You may take the #94 or #96 bus or walk 15 minutes along College Avenue to the Tufts campus. If you board the bus, ask the driver to stop across from the Memorial Steps at Tufts University, just before the intersection of College and Boston Avenues. Turn right onto Boston Ave., look for a red building with white columns on your left (490 Boston Ave.), enter this building and take the elevator to the 3rd floor. The entrance doors are locked at 6pm. Subjects who come after 6pm should call the lab at 617-627-2198 and someone will let them in.
If you are taking the Green Line T, take a left out of the Medford/Tufts MBTA Station onto Boston Avenue and continue down Boston Ave, crossing College Avenue. The Psychology Building will be the second building on your left (there will be a grassy area, and then a red brick building with columns at the entrance). Enter this building and take the elevator to the 3rd floor. The entrance doors are locked at 6pm. Subjects who come after 6pm should call the lab at 617-627-2198 and someone will let them in.
Parking
If you are a research participant driving to our lab at Tufts, please contact us ahead of time via email (NeuroCogLab@tufts.edu) so we can arrange for a parking spot for you. For all other visitors, there is limited paid street parking directly in front of the building, as well as Tufts Parking Lots available for use. The closest lots are Dowling Garage and Cousens Parking Lot. See https://access.tufts.edu/visitor-parking for details and click HERE for a map.
